This week the Victorian Health Minister Jenny Mikakos announced that Victorian Nurse Practitioners will no longer have to apply to APHRA to prescribe medications according to a formulary of drugs. This change will bring Victorian NPs in line with the rest of Australia.
With the increase in restrictions announced that affect us all we are able to offer alternatives to face to face visits if these are not possible. Access to care is still possible by offering Telehealth consultations or Telephone calls so please don’t neglect your health needs and contact us about how we can best meet your needs.
We both carry sanitiser and masks to minimise infection and have completed COVID infection control training. If you have an appointment and you are unwell please contact us to reschedule your appointment or we might be able to offer an alternative method of contact. Likewise if we are unwell we will notify you as soon as possible to reschedule.
Above all else take care.

“As a nurse practitioner finding education that meets the needs of continuing professional development to maintain endorsement as a NP is at times difficult. I have attended multiple seminars with Pharmaeducation since my NP endorsement. The education continues to be up to date and relevant to my practice, and meets the needs of my ongoing professional development in medication management, symptom management and the pharmacological approach (Fiona)”.
Pharmaeducation are hoping to be deliver a seminar later in the year in Melbourne.
